A little care starts with knowing what you have. Glass, insulated drinkware, fabric and silicone components have different needs, so the care instructions supplied with your particular product always come first.
Check before you clean
Look for the confirmed cleaning instructions before using a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine or tumble dryer. A similar-looking product may use different materials or construction, so don’t assume the same treatment is suitable.
Be gentle with printed surfaces
Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh scrubbing over a printed design. Use the cleaning method recommended for the item, and give separate parts time to dry before reassembling or storing them.
Look after the small details
Check lids, seals and any detachable parts for the instructions that apply to them. For beadable pens, keep the mechanism dry and inspect the assembly if a component feels loose. Stop using damaged glass or a broken component.
Read the fabric label
For pillowcases and cushion covers, follow the label for washing, drying and ironing. Check whether a cover is removable and whether an insert is included. Don’t apply heat directly to a printed area unless the product instructions specifically allow it.
If a care instruction is missing or unclear, ask before trying a cleaning method. A quick check is easier than guessing.
